Jogging, Walking & Dogs
There is a pathway right around the lake. It has a wheelchair access (W) from the entrance at the junction of Cascade Close & Reflection Mews, this Google maps photo is an old aerial shot but the access is there. At any time of the day you can see people running, jogging , taking their babies around in strollers & walking with their children while stopping to look at the birds.
There is one seat (S) around the lake for you to take a rest on and enjoy the view and there are also a few picnic tables (P) where you can sit with friends and enjoy a meal together. On the Eastern Side of the Lake there is a council run notice board with some interesting information about the environment.
There is also a friendly community of families and individuals who regularly walk their dogs around the lake.
The council have provided two bins (R) for your rubbish and Doggy Poop, there is also a supply of Doggy Poop bags attached to the bin at the North end of the lake (RD).
Can we please encourage you to use these bags and pick up after your dogs.
Dogs are supposed to kept on a leash at all times. This is especially important if your dog is aggressive towards other dogs or people and to stop them chasing and terrorizing the bird life.
I have personally seen unrestrained dogs grab little ducklings in their mouths! Of course all our pooches manage to get away from us sometimes though but please do your best for the sake of this lovely environment.
